Southampton complete signing of goalkeeper Willy Caballero

Southampton have completed the signing of 40-year-old goalkeeper Willy Caballero on a free transfer.

The former Manchester City and Chelsea stopper completed his medical at the club’s training ground earlier on Monday before signing a short-term deal until January 5.

Caballero’s arrival comes after the Saints announced that first-choice goalkeepers Alex McCarthy and Fraser Forster are both suffering with injuries, with academy graduate Harry Lewis representing Ralph Hasenhuttl‘s only senior option between the sticks.
