Sergio Aguero will reportedly undergo a full heart check over the next few days to determine why he suffered with chest pain during Saturday’s La Liga clash with Alaves.
The Argentina international had to leave the field in the 42nd minute of the contest after seemingly struggling to breathe.
Aguero is believed to have left Camp Nou in an ambulance, and Barcelona later confirmed that the experienced striker had been taken to hospital to undergo a series of examinations.
According to Marca, the South American will remain ‘under the watchful eye’ of experts over the next couple of days due to the nature of the issue.
The report claims that a full heart check will be required, and Barcelona will not allow the 33-year-old to return to the field until he is given the all clear by health professionals.
Aguero missed the start of the 2021-22 campaign with a calf problem but has featured in his new team’s last five matches and scored his first goal against Real Madrid last weekend.
