Paul Pogba ‘determined to return to Juventus next year’

Paul Pogba is determined to secure a return to Juventus next year, with the Frenchman already deciding to leave Manchester United, according to Italian journalist Rudy Galetti.

The midfielder’s current deal at Old Trafford is due to expire next June, and it appears increasingly unlikely that he will be penning an extension with the 20-time English champions.

Real Madrid have been strongly linked with the World Cup winner, but according to Galetti, the Spanish giants are only Pogba’s “Plan B”, with the 28-year-old aiming to return to Juventus, where he spent four years between 2012 and 2016.

The former Le Havre youngster has also reportedly never considered making the move to Paris Saint-Germain despite claims that the French giants are keen on his services.

“The certainty of the Frenchman is that he wouldn’t continue with United and has never considered the PSG option,” Galetti told CMIT TV. “Manchester offered him a contract package with a salary of €30-32m between fixed and variable parts, but he’s not interested in that project.

“So there are two paths. Plan A for him is to return to Turin, but to be able to satisfy him, Juve must sell [Aaron] Ramsey and [Adrien] Rabiot to make room for him, both for roles and for the amount of salaries. Pogba is also willing to reduce his salary a little from what I know.

“Plan B – if you can call it that – is Real Madrid. If he does not find an agreement with Juve, the Frenchman would gladly go to Real.”

Pogba could be out for the next 10 weeks with the thigh problem that he picked up during a training session with France, and there have been claims that the midfielder could have played his last game for Man United.
