Fernandez, who was born is Spain to British parents, has previously been linked with European giants Barcelona, Liverpool and Manchester City, however, Leeds seems to have fended off stern competition to land the talented teenager.
The forward is yet to have made his professional debut, but he impressed for Espanyol’s Under-19s side last season, scoring 14 goals in 21 matches.
Fernandez will now be hoping to impress in the academy set-up at Leeds before breaking into Marcelo Bielsa‘s first-team squad.
