Julian Nagelsmann coming under pressure at Bayern Munich?

Head coach Julian Nagelsmann has reportedly come under pressure to improve Bayern Munich‘s fortunes in the Bundesliga.

Bayern – who have won the division in every season for a decade – remain unbeaten unbeaten after six matches and have collected 12 points to sit in third position in the standings.

However, the German giants have posted three successive draws, the most recent coming on Saturday as Stuttgart scored a last-gasp equaliser to record a 2-2 scoreline.

According to BILD, all is currently not well behind the scenes at the Bavarians with a number of players said to be unhappy with their boss.

The report suggests that several first-team stars feel that Nagelsmann should be questioning his tactics given the manner of their result at the weekend.

After the match, Nagelsmann publicly suggested that Serge Gnabry, Leroy Sane and Jamal Musiala were partly to blame after opportunities were missed at the other end.

Nagelsmann is quoted as saying: “The aggressiveness in possession was a bit lacking, a tad too much control, a bit too little risk and greed to go forward.

‘But we still had three huge chances where you have to score a third goal – with Serge, Leroy and Jamal.”

With Nagelsmann failing to take any responsibility in his words to the media, a number of players are now said to feel disgruntled.

Sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic also gave his opinion after the fixture at the Allianz Arena with Bayern next scheduled to face Barcelona in the Champions League.

Ahead of their reunion with Robert Lewandowski, Salihamidzic said: “We have to shift up two gears – even three against Barcelona to win games.

“Lewa takes advantage of all the opportunities in attack. We are warned. Robert won everything with us. He wouldn’t boo him. The fans will appreciate it.”

Since being appointed as Bayern boss in July 2021, Nagelsmann has recorded 39 wins and just seven defeats from his 56 matches in charge.
