Inter Milan ‘set Lautaro Martinez asking price amid Manchester City links’

Inter Milan will reportedly entertain offers worth at least of €60m (£50.5m) for striker Lautaro Martinez next summer, amid interest from Manchester City.

The 24-year-old enjoyed a stellar spell in front of goal for the Nerazzurri in their 2020-21 title-winning campaign, scoring 17 goals and registering 10 assists in 38 Serie A appearances.

Since the departure of Romelu Lukaku, Martinez has helped Inter maintain their place at the summit of the Italian top-flight, netting 11 league goals in 21 appearances so far this term.

Martinez, who was heavily linked with a departure last summer, continues to be linked with a move to the Premier League, with Man City manager Pep Guardiola believed to be a ‘great admirer’ of the Argentina international.

According to InterLive.it, via Sport Witness, Inter would be prepared to cash in on Martinez even though the striker signed a contract extension with the club in October last year, keeping him at the club until June 2026.

The report adds that City could be tempted to offer Gabriel Jesus in part exchange; however, Inter ‘only want cash’ and will consider bids in excess of €60m (£50.5m) next summer.

Martinez has also been linked with the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, with the latter now managed by the Argentine’s former coach Antonio Conte.
