Hugo Lloris pens new Tottenham Hotspur deal until 2024

Tottenham Hotspur have announced that Hugo Lloris has signed a new two-and-a-half year deal with the club until the summer of 2024.

Antonio Conte‘s number one was due to become a free agent at the end of the current season but was always expected to extend his stay with the North London club.

Lloris has held down his spot in the Spurs XI despite the signing of Pierluigi Gollini from Atalanta BC, and the World Cup-winning captain has now put pen to paper on fresh terms.

The former Lyon man is now tied to the club until the end of the 2023-24 season – by which time he will be 37 years of age – and he has signed a new deal despite links with a return to France with Nice.

Lloris has played every minute for Tottenham in the 2021-22 Premier League season, keeping eight clean sheets in the process, taking his total tally for Tottenham to 134 shut-outs in 395 appearances.

However, the 35-year-old is still yet to win a piece of silverware in North London, with Spurs being dumped out of this season’s EFL Cup in the semi-finals by Chelsea.
