Huddersfield Town confirm loan deal for Chelsea youngster Tino Anjorin

Huddersfield Town have completed the loan signing of Chelsea youngster Tino Anjorin.

During the summer transfer window, Anjorin moved to Lokomotiv Moscow on a temporary basis with the Russian side possessing the option to push through a £17m deal in the future.

However, as well as making just three starts and six substitute outings, the 20-year-old suffered a fractured ankle, resulting in the termination of that agreement.

While a transfer to Southampton appeared to be an option at one stage, Chelsea have instead sent the playmaker to the John Smith’s Stadium for the remainder of the campaign.

Speaking to the club’s official website, head coach Carlos Corberan said: “I believe Tino is one of the most important young talents in Britain. He is now in the last part of his recovery from injury, and we expect he can be integrated into our squad during February.

“As soon as he is fully recovered, he will increase the possibilities of our squad. He can play in different attacking positions – as a 10, 11 or 7 – and he has the skills to make a real impact in our attacking play.”

Huddersfield were allegedly also keen on fellow Blues prospect Harvey Vale, but Thomas Tuchel has decided to keep the academy graduate at Stamford Bridge.
