How Barcelona could line up against Celta Vigo

Barcelona announced on Thursday that Ousmane Dembele had suffered another injury, with the Frenchman, who is only just back from a long-term knee problem, now out with a hamstring issue.

Sergino Dest has also been ruled out of Saturday’s La Liga clash with Celta Vigo due to a lower back problem, meaning that interim manager Sergi Barjuan will again be without a number of important players.

Dembele and Dest join Sergio Aguero, Martin Braithwaite, Pedri and Gerard Pique on the treatment table, while Sergi Roberto remains a doubt with a thigh problem.

The team is expected to be similar to the one that started Tuesday’s 1-0 win over Dynamo Kiev in the Champions League, which boosted Barcelona’s hopes of reaching the round of 16.

Ronald Araujo could potentially come into the back four alongside Eric Garcia, though, while Philippe Coutinho is pushing to join Ansu Fati and Memphis Depay in the final third of the field.

Nico Gonzalez played the full 90 minutes against Dynamo but could now drop to the bench, with Gavi moving back from an attacking position to join Frenkie de Jong and Sergio Busquets in the middle of the park.

Luuk de Jong and Yusuf Demir are also attacking options for the Catalan outfit, who remain under Barjuan’s management, as the club are struggling to come to an agreement with Al-Sadd for Xavi.

Barcelona possible starting lineup: Ter Stegen; Mingueza, R Araujo, Garcia, Alba; F de Jong, Busquets, Gavi; Coutinho, Memphis, Fati
