How Arsenal could line up against West Ham United

Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is set to return to the squad for Wednesday’s Premier League clash with West Ham United at the Emirates.

The 32-year-old was dropped for the win over Southampton due to a disciplinary breach, but the Gunners marched to an emphatic 3-0 win without the skipper leading the line.

Aubameyang’s return would leave Bernd Leno and Sead Kolasinac as the hosts’ only two injury concerns, although neither man would start anyway.

It would not be surprising to see Aubameyang take his place on the bench, though, as Alexandre Lacazette opened the scoring in clinical fashion against Southampton.

Emile Smith Rowe has shaken off a tight groin and will expect to return to the first XI over Gabriel Martinelli, with Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka both retaining their places.

Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka are likely to hold their spots in the engine room, that is if the latter is deemed ready for another start in quick succession following his injury layoff.

Aaron Ramsdale once again stood out at the Emirates at the weekend and will marshal the backline of Kieran Tierney, Gabriel, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Ben White in midweek.

Arsenal possible starting lineup: Ramsdale; Tomiyasu, White, Gabriel, Tierney; Xhaka, Partey; Saka, Odegaard, Smith Rowe; Lacazette
