Bayern Munich chief coy on future move for Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane

Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic was reluctant to commit to whether the German champions would try to sign Kane next summer.

The England captain came close to leaving North London in 2021 when Manchester City were interested in signing the forward, but Spurs refused to entertain any offers.

While the speculation was not as intense this summer, Kane was linked with a move to the Bundesliga after Bayern boss Julian Nagelsmann refused to rule out a potential transfer.

Nagelsmann’s comments drew a defiant response from Tottenham manager, who claimed that Bayern had been “disrespectful” to talk about the 29-year-old.

In a recent interview with Sky Sports Germany, Bayern’s sporting director was asked whether a possible move for Kane will come up again next year.

Salihamidzic said “It’s too early to talk about it, if you look at our offensive now: we have eight players for four positions.

“There’s a lot of fire in there. If you look at the training sessions, it’s great fun to watch. Some training games are better than Bundesliga games.

That’s why it’s much too early to talk about it. The way we played offensively and scored as many goals, I’m very happy about that.”

Kane has scored four goals in five appearances this season, and the striker will look to help his side maintain their unbeaten start to the season when Spurs face Fulham on Saturday.
