Australia have wrapped up victory in the third Test against a shambolic England by an innings and 14 runs, ensuring that they win the series and retain the Ashes with two matches to spare.

Resuming on 31-4, England needed a big innings from Joe Root and Ben Stokes, and the pair batted with intent during the opening overs of the day.

However, Stokes was soon bowled by Mitchell Starc for 11, and although Jonny Bairstow was unfortunate be get out lbw for five, the writing was already on the wall.

Borland finished with sensational figures of 6-7 off just four overs, and it was left to Cameron Green to wrap up proceedings by bowling Anderson, condemning England to yet another embarrassing defeat.
