Troyes keen to loan Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Yerson Mosquera?

Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Yerson Mosquera is reportedly attracting attention from Troyes on deadline day.

Earlier on Thursday, it was confirmed that Willy Boly had been allowed to depart Wolves in order to sign for Nottingham Forest.

The Premier League outfit are known to be in the market for a direct replacement with West Ham United’s Craig Dawson and free agent Jason Denayer both under consideration.

If another experienced name is brought in by Bruno Lage, it will have ramifications for Mosquera, who is lacking senior experience after his transfer last summer.

The former Colombia Under-20 international has been limited to just nine minutes of first-team football due to a significant hamstring injury.

Lage has recently acknowledged that he is torn about how to deal with the 21-year-old’s situation, acknowledging that he rates the player yet also understands that he also requires more game time during 2022-23.

At a time when Mosquera could soon be relegated to fifth choice in the central defensive ranks, RMC Sport claims that Troyes are monitoring the situation.

The report says that discussions remain ongoing between the relevant parties, but any transfer is likely dependent on whether Wolves can get another fresh face through the door.

Wolves are also losing a player in Leander Dendoncker to Aston Villa who could have deputised in the middle of the backline if required.

Troyes currently sit in 11th position in the Ligue 1 standings after recording two wins from their opening five matches this season.

However, they possess the second-worst defensive record having conceded 13 goals, two of which came in the 4-2 triumph over Monaco earlier this week.

With Bruno Irles playing with a three-man backline, there would realistically be opportunities for Mosquera to earn game time over the course of the campaign.
