Real Madrid ‘keen to offload Jesus Vallejo’

Real Madrid are reportedly hoping to shift out-of-favour defender Jesus Vallejo in the summer of 2022.

The 25-year-old has barely had a taste of action in Carlo Ancelotti’s side this term, making one substitute appearance in La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the Champions League.

Vallejo is under contract at the Bernabeu until the summer of the 2024-25 season, but he has played just 14 minutes of top-flight football this season and is not thought to be in Ancelotti’s plans moving forward.

According to El Nacional, Los Blancos are hoping to part ways with the centre-back in the near future, but his contract and playing situation will make a departure difficult.

The report adds that Real Madrid would be taking more of a financial hit if they were to terminate Vallejo’s deal, and as a result the ex-Real Zaragoza youngster could be set to stay in the capital for a little while longer.

Vallejo has scored one goal in 22 games for Real Madrid since arriving in the summer of 2015 and has been shipped out on loan to Granada, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Eintracht Frankfurt over the past 10 years.
