Paris Saint-Germain announce signing of Carlos Soler from Valencia

Paris Saint-Germain have announced the capture of Spanish midfielder Carlos Soler from Valencia.

The 25-year-old has penned a contract at the Parc des Princes until the end of the 2026-27 season in a deal which could reportedly pocket Valencia as much as £16.2m.

Soler – who is capable of playing in any position across the midfield – has been a standout figure for a faltering Valencia side in the past couple of years and hit double figures in goals in both the 2020-21 and 2021-22 La Liga seasons.

The Spain international totalled 36 goals and 31 assists in 226 appearances for Valencia, whom he joined as a youth player all the way back in 2004 and won one Copa del Rey in the 2018-19 season.

Speaking to the official PSG website after his arrival, Soler said: “I’m very happy! It’s a new adventure in my career. I feel very proud and I’m looking forward to starting work with my teammates, to meeting them, and giving everything for this shirt.

“On Tuesday, we’re playing our first Champions League game at the Parc des Princes, and it’ll be an opportunity for me to get to know it. I’m certain that it’ll be a great party for everyone and for the fans.”

Soler becomes PSG’s sixth new signing of the Christophe Galtier and Luis Campos era, following Vitinha, Renato Sanches, Nordi Mukiele, Fabian Ruiz and Hugo Ekitike to the French capital.
