Manchester United ‘fear Ralf Rangnick will miss Arsenal game’

Manchester United reportedly fear that visa issues will prevent Ralf Rangnick from taking charge of Thursday’s meeting with Arsenal.

On Monday, United confirmed that the 63-year-old had agreed to become the club’s new manager on a deal which will run until the end of the season.

The German will then move into a consultancy role behind the scenes, providing that he does not become United’s boss on a permanent basis.

However, despite the announcement, the Daily Mail says that Rangnick is expected to miss the important Premier League encounter with the Gunners.

The report suggests that work permit issues and updated coronavirus regulations will likely mean that caretaker manager Michael Carrick remains in charge in the short term.

Should Rangnick miss the upcoming fixture at Old Trafford, he will hope to have any problems resolved before the meeting with Crystal Palace at the end of the week.
