Leeds United ‘rule out Kalvin Phillips sale amid Liverpool, Man United links’

Leeds United have reportedly ruled out selling midfielder Kalvin Phillips, who has been linked with a move to Liverpool and Manchester United.

The 26-year-old has made 12 Premier League appearances for Marcelo Bielsa‘s side this season, missing a large portion of the campaign due to a hamstring injury, but remains a key figure at Elland Road.

After breaking into Gareth Southgate‘s England squad at the end of 2020, and impressing during his first major international tournament last year, Phillips has attracted interest from some of Europe’s top clubs.

Liverpool, Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid have all reportedly been linked with the defensive midfielder, but according to the Daily Mail, Leeds have no intention of letting Phillips leave his boyhood club.

The report claims that a fee in the region of £33.4m has been labelled on Phillips by Jurgen Klopp‘s side, and the Leeds-born midfielder does want to play Champions League football.

Since making his senior debut in 2015, Phillips has gone on to make 226 appearances for Leeds, helping them gain promotion back to the Premier League in 2020.
