Jesse Lingard ‘leaning towards foreign move this summer’

Manchester United attacker Jesse Lingard is reportedly keen to move abroad as a free agent this summer despite interest from the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United.

The 29-year-old’s contract at Old Trafford is due to expire at the end of June, and he is preparing to end his time with the Red Devils in search of regular first-team action.

Tottenham and West Ham are allegedly both keen to keep the England international in the Premier League, but according to the Daily Mail, the attacker is currently leaning towards a foreign move at the end of the season.

Lingard has scored twice and registered one assist in 13 appearances for Man United during the 2021-22 campaign, while he has featured on eight occasions in the Premier League.

The Englishman has not played in the league since the start of December, though, and only played the final five minutes against Aston Villa in the FA Cup on Monday.

Lingard starred while on loan at West Ham in the second half of last season, scoring nine times and registering five assists in 16 appearances.
